Hotel Faucet Procurement Checklist: Room Types, Finishes, Spare Parts and Approvals

· EMPOLO buyer guide

Guest vanity. Shower wall. Bathtub wall. Public restrooms. Back-of-house. Each behaves differently under guest use, each touches a different approval authority, and each fails publicly in its own way. Procurement teams that order "the bathroom package" as one line item rediscover this at handover. Here is the checklist that prevents it — the same one we work from when EMPOLO specifies a property from the drawings.
Standard rooms, suites, villas and public floors deserve different faucets — and different finishes. The standard floor should be boring, durable and everywhere-servicable; signature suites carry the statement piece; public restrooms need vandal-resistant simplicity and the shortest possible service time. Lock the room-type schedule before pricing, because changing the standard floor after production begins is the most expensive change order in sanitary ware.
Brushed gold against tile, gold against gold — finishes only reveal themselves in combination. Approve a full-size sample of each finish against the approved tile, stone and hardware board, under the actual bathroom lighting scheme. Photograph the approved combination and attach it to the PO. Our project teams have supported this approval loop for properties from Doha to Brisbane, and every smooth delivery had the photo board attached to the purchase order.
Engineering departments remember one thing: the cartridge. Standardize on faucet models that share a single cartridge family wherever the design allows, and hold a consignment stock at the property sized to the room count. Mixed cartridges mean mixed spare inventories mean shelf rot. All brass wall series in our program run on ceramic cartridges (Sedal or Naijie by series), and long-term spare supply is part of the OEM contract, not a favor.
Australia needs WELS-registered flow rates and WaterMark certification on the product; Saudi Arabia clears customs against SASO; North American specify-and-inspect projects ask for cUPC listings; Thailand recognizes TIS. Our certification portfolio covers cUPC, WaterMark, WELS, SASO, TIS and CE programs — ask for the certificate that matches your jurisdiction with the exact model on it. A generic certificate without the model number is decoration.
Before award, agree: cartridge life expectation, spare part numbering that matches your CMMS, replenishment lead time, and a consignment list per hundred rooms. Faucet bodies carry a 5-year warranty in our program, ceramic cartridges 2 years — and a spare-parts annex is what makes those years comfortable for the team that actually lives with the building.
One fully appointed mock-up bathroom, tested by real hands: levers, shower diverter, bath filler, drain speed, water spill paths, cleaning access. An hour in a mock-up room replaces a hundred emails, and it finds the two or three specification errors every project carries. Approve photographs of the mock-up as the quality baseline for every floor that follows.
Cartons labelled by room type and floor — not fifty identical boxes dumped in the loading bay — turns installation from archaeology into assembly. Our project program packs and labels by schedule; the logistics cost difference is trivial against the installation savings.
If your property is in specification or tender stage, send the bathroom schedule and destination market to our sales team. You will get a room-type quotation with certificates for your jurisdiction, finish sample plan, and the spa
